3 free credit scores

I’ve gotten my free annual credit report from each of the three reporting agencies, and found some inaccurate items. I’ve disputed the items with each agency and Trans-Union has since removed them. I’m still waiting to hear back from Experian and Equifax. My question is, how much does a credit score go up, if at all, when the disputed items are removed?

Questions about identity theft.?

July 19th, 2011 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Free Equifax Credit Score

I received a random letter today from a hospital in North Dakota that stated debt collectors were trying to collect a payment from me. I have never lived in ND. I just recently moved from Ohio to Kentucky, so my information just changed over this week actually. I was worried that somebody stole my identity, so I contacted Equifax, so I could check my credit score. I am hoping that my change of address is what is causing the problems. However, after submitting my information, I was given this message:
We’re sorry, for your protection we are unable to deliver your FACT Act Equifax Free Annual Credit Report on the internet. There are a number of reasons that we may be unable to fulfill your request online. You may have a Security Freeze on your credit file, an Active Duty Military or Fraud Alert, or the identification information submitted online may not match the information on file. Please note that your credit card has not been charged
The following link will lead you to a form that is not screen-readable at this time. However, this form is not required to request your free Equifax credit report by mail. Please send your name, current address, former address, and social security number, along with any documents described below, to the following address: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. For assistance by phone, please call us at 800-685-1111.

Are these credit scores normal?

May 22nd, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in Free Experian Credit Score

When I got a free annual credit report a little over a month ago, it said my over all score was 643. I got another credit report from Equifax saying my credit score there was 680. Then today I signed up on Experian, and it allows me to see my credit scores from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. It says my credit scores with them are 718, 723, and 727 (in the order of Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). I’m happy they’re considered good, but they don’t sound right. How do my credit scores go from the 640’s to around the 720’s in a matter of a month?
forgot to add I got the credit report from Equifax a few weeks after the free annual report, if that makes difference

Free Credit Report But Not Credit Score?

April 28th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in Free Transunion Credit Score

I recently went to annualcreditreport.com and requested my free annual credit report. I got the first report from TransUnion, and they have details on my current credit and loans, but they didnt give me my credit score. Under credit score it says "Not Purchased" and under Grade it just has a "-".

Can they force you to purchase your credit score? I thought you should be able to get that along with the report free once a year?

I'm not allowed to see my credit score (10 pts best answer)?

April 25th, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in Free Equifax Credit Score

Hello everyone, I’m currently 19 and I have no credit pretty much..I opened a bank account with wells fargo though. I used annualcreditreport.com and entered my info and I tried all 3 agencies and they all said I couldn’t view my report…I answered pretty much everything correctly and answered those questions about mortgage etc correctly as well. But the thing is that I tried last year and was able to see it where it showed something about wells fargo but it didn’t actually show my credit score. So I’m curious why it worked last year and now all 3 agencies are declining to show me my record?

This is what it says on the last page:
We’re sorry, for your protection we are unable to deliver your FACT Act Equifax Free Annual Credit Report on the internet. Please help

? about Credit score and Credit cards?

April 23rd, 2011 by admin | 6 Comments | Filed in Free FICO Credit Score

I sold my house thru a short sale and I didn’t know exactly how it will affect my credit score. I received a letter from one of my credit card companies stating that they closed my account because of what was written on my Fico score (previously 767) and that it was an inactive card. I still have 2 more accounts with the same credit card company, 1 is active while the other 1 has been dormant for 2 years. I also have 2 more inactive credit cards with other companies. Presently, I don’t have any mortgage or car loans and I pay in full my credit card monthly and on time.
The questions are: Do I need to use and activate all my other credit cards to avoid it from being closed by the credit card companies and how do I improve or at least keep my current Fico score ( which I presume went down already, just checked it on free annual credit report and already showed a negative remark)? Any comment will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Confused

Quick question on receiving the annualfree credit report?

April 17th, 2011 by admin | 4 Comments | Filed in Free Transunion Credit Score

Hi,
If I order my free annual credit report from the 3 major companies, will any of the 3 send me more paperwork to fill out first? For example: copies of id..etc.. If I recall, Transunion goes straight ahead and lets you view, but what about the other 2?

p.s. which is the easiest most affordable link to see your scores? i really don’t want to join a monthly subsciption…
i just read the bottom of the printed form to send by mail..it says if additional information is needed to process your request, the consumer credit reporting company will contact you by mail…
I guess this would be Equifax or Experian or both…
Is that usually what happens?

Can requesting an AnnualCreditReport lower my score?

January 20th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in Free Equifax Credit Score

I know that when credit agencies (equifax, experian, transunion) recieve frequent or multiple requests from 3rd parties for your credit report, they will lower your score based on suspicion. Does requesting the free annual credit report affect this? Will they count this along with the other requests?

I tried emailing the FTC and the credit companies, but theres no way to reach them for general inquiries w/out being a customer.
